The Blondes of Vertigo are an innovative rock/blues trio which melds expressive guitar playing and distinctive vocals with powerful drumming and groove-driven basslines. Influenced by such groups as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, U2, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Blondes of Vertigo have spent countless hours in the studio to express their artful songwriting through an imaginative approach to production.
The band has just recently finished mastering their debut album, "Shapes of Things", expected for release later this year. The album was recorded and produced by guitarist/vocalist Daniel Amatulli over a period of a few months in various locations across the United States. The album contains such definitive tracks as "Take It Back","Circulate", and "Shapes of Things", which serve to showcase Amatulli's penchant for guitar songwriting, biting vocals, and unique ear for production. "Political Jesus", a collaboration with long time friend Keane Freeman, provides a glimpse into the softer side of The Blondes with its lush guitar soundscapes and finely crafted acoustic songwriting. This album serves as an introduction which will be sure to leave the listener begging to hear more from this gifted band of versatile musicians.
The Blondes of Vertigo was formed in 2009 when Daniel Amatulli asked fellow musicians Sebastian Palma and Keane Freeman to join him as the performing group. Daniel and Sebastian met in 2006 while playing the Hollywood scene in such well known venues as The Roxy, The Whiskey, and House of Blues. Daniel and Sebastian played in a rock outfit that met its demise when the lead singer left to pursue a career in films. Daniel asked Sebastian to provide the drums on a few of the tracks from "Shapes of Things", and Palma co-wrote the track "Different Colours Different Sounds". In 2009, Amatulli asked fellow singer, songwriter, and producer Keane Freeman to assist in the mixing and mastering of the "Shapes of Things" album, and shortly thereafter Freeman was asked to come aboard as a permanent member of The Blondes. The new lineup is currently recording a second album as well as planning a tour in support of the first album.
