Jessi V was born August 22, 1982, in Tampico Tamaulipas, Mexico. Her mother and father moved to the US in 1988 to Lucernce Valley... With little contact the world since her parents divorced she hardly went to school... along with her chronic respiratory illness (bronchitis) , eight-year-old Jessi became anti-social and withdrawn. Very little is known about Jessi's early life. It is known that her mother and father did not want her to study music (they wanted Jessi to be a lawyer or a doctor), but she gave in reluctantly when she was urged to permit it. Jessi entered into her lessons with no one but her own intuition, when she was still in grammar school. It has been recorded that Jessi was a friend of Rosa Castro, since they were both relatively young. They later composed for the same or similar vocals, and shared music. Along with other singers, they also borrowed ideas and did versions of each other’s work. Settled into a new state, fourteen year old Jessi shared her passion for music with her friend, singing to her regularly. Socially outcast by the time she was 14, Jessi admittedly retreated into a private world of art and music, studying the sounds Janis Joplin, Patti Smith and The Greatful Dead... Jessi also became fond of blues legends like Billie Holliday and Louis Armstrong. By the time Jessi turned 18 years old, she was already singing in local restaurants and karaoke bars. As a teenager, Jessi was also drawn to punk and heavy metal music; Metallica, Nirvana, and Joy Division were a few of her favorite bands. Jessi V managed to finish middle school despite being a social outcast and moved to Downey CA shortly after getting expelled from Hesperia Jr. High for fighting alot. . Jessi worked a variety of odd jobs, from a warehouse packer and line worker to working in a candy factory, but the only thing he stuck with was music. Though completely consumed by her love of metal she was also in love with sounfs of the blues, Jessi enrolled in and attended Travel And Trade Career Institute in Long Beach CA. She would drop out in 2003, with plans to sing folk and blues songs in all over... Jessi studied both the English and Spanish methods of singing and made a special study of Selena and Crystal Lewis, and in that no one has ever equaled her. The subtle shadings of the poet, which she believed were beyond the reach of lyrical art. Also her desire to be whatever she wanted to be. She has no limit and the sky isnt gunna let her stop. Late in 1999, Jessi went to Oregon, where she became a part of the hippie movement in Eugene. She quickly became a favored regular in Roewaters Cafe and coffeehouses and clubs. After two years in Oregon, Jessi was out of control, however, abusing alcohol and amphetamines daily. She returned home to Long Beach, CA and her family for inspiration and encouragement. Re-enrolling in college, Jessi excelled in school, but never seemed content. She questioned her life's direction and attempted to fit in in her native hometown. Now the fastforward of this journey is at a pause for she doesnt really know where to go from here... meeting many producers and yet have been that she can actually make an album... So she will struggle on her own and is goin to be attending Santa Monica College in the Spring... Where she will major in Music Engineering and Russian... ITs been her dream to learn many languages... Japanese and Italian as well but since she began her life all over once again , baby steps is what shes willing to take... STILL IN PROGRESS...
