Weekend Revolutionaries began as a holiday project in Coffs Harbour, Australia in April 2008 (although early demos had been recorded as far back as February 2006).

Production of the second album 'Boxes and Boomgates', began in September 2008 in Weekend Revolutionaries' makeshift bedroom studio in Coffs Harbour. After 8 months, the album was complete, and it was released digitally on 4 June 2009 through online label Tunecore.

The album receives an exclusive physical release on CD Baby on 1/1/2010.

The third Weekend Revolutionaries album, 'Coastal Mentality', will be released in 2010. The album's first single, 'Haze', comes out on 19 April 2010.
