Jay Jerz is a Connecticut based hard rock artist that performs as a solo artist and as a member of the group If Not For Dreaming… He is a multi-instrument performer, whose talents have been on numerous worldwide releases.
The musical journey of Jay Jerz began in the heyday of the hard rock era as the drummer and solid-as-a-rock backbone for three power house Connecticut based acts: Street, Cheater and Silent Shadows. He also was the rhythm guitarist for multi-talented artist Kai Blackwood, but Jay also had his own music that he wanted to share, thus a solo career was born.
Jay has been involved with many bands and projects over the years, as well as toured with many name acts including: Udo, Raven, Ratt, White Lion, Union, Nuno Bettencourt and the Misfits. Jay also played drums on a Dwell Records Queenryche compilation and also had a stint on MTV in the video for Atlantic Records recording artist “Black And White.”
To look into the musical forces that be which drive the creative juices for a Jay Jerz song, is quite a diverse road. Influences are many and range from KISS to Gordon Lightfoot and from Billy Squier to The Beatles. Meaning, a Jay Jerz album can be listened to by a variety of likes and tastes.
